Sudbury Valley New Horizons Groups
What groups do we have?
We have a band track and a string orchestra track.
The bands are directed by Diane Muffitt, Jamie Clark and sometimes Linda Murdock, with Dan Foote as percussion coordinator, Linda Murdock as general do-all. The beginner classes and Levels Program are taught by John McLellan.
The string orchestra groups are directed by Dorcas McCall and Oliver Chang, and beginner classes taught by Oliver Chang. Contact Dorcas at strings@svnhb.org.
We also have two groups that meet after our regular rehearsal (from 8:15-9:00), a Swing Band, directed by Jamie Clark and/or Diane Muffitt and a Woodwind Choir, directed by Linda Murdock. These groups are for our band and string ensemble members only. There is no extra charge for either group.
Many of our members get together and play ensembles on their own - sometimes after rehearsals, and sometimes at members houses. We sponsor 2 or 3 "Soirée Musicales" which are relaxed, no stress performance opportunities for our members and their friends/family.
